Meridian Water, Enfield

Brand development and media relations

The Brief

Meridian Water is Enfield Council’s flagship regeneration scheme, set to deliver 10,000 homes and thousands of jobs and where the Council has taken direct control to shape and bring forward the development. LCA was appointed in 2016 after a competitive tender process as the project’s first ever dedicated PR agency to raise its profile and manage a series of major announcements.

The LCA Role

LCA ran communications workshops to enable us to prepare detailed scheme key messages and a comprehensive 12 months communications plan. We then managed a competition to appoint a graphic design agency and worked alongside them to develop and implement a dedicated brand for Meridian Water, a new project website, a community newsletter and printed materials. We developed a stakeholder engagement plan, including local communities, and launched the new brand at MIPIM in March 2017 alongside a series of events, before than securing significant media coverage around land purchases, the release of new images and the start on site of the new train station at Meridian Water. We have also handled communications and media relations around the selection of a development partner.

Results Delivered

Meridian Water is firmly established as one of London’s major regeneration zones, with Enfield Council seen as a pioneering local authority and positive coverage and comment secured across the trade press and London media.

"LCA has been brilliant to work with and quickly gained the respect of the entire project team. They have shaped all aspects of the communications brief for Meridian Water, securing some great coverage and managing some difficult issues as well."
