Life at LCA

Small in feel and large in talent the LCA team is an amazing one to be part of and makes LCA so great at what we do.

We operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment, constantly pushing ourselves, challenging each other and learning as we go along – no one day is ever the same. And we like it that way! LCA support the people that are building, changing and making the environment in London and beyond, so naturally our clients make our work interesting.

We like to say that we work on the most exciting and challenging projects – the ones you walk past now or in the future and say ‘I was part of that’ – and we are incredibly proud of what we do. We work in two main teams but there are opportunities to learn from everyone in the agency. And whilst we want to ensure our people are rounded communications professionals, we embrace specialism, encouraging our people to become experts in a particular borough, a sector or a service.

We like to grow and promote from within which is why four of our Managing Directors started out as AEs; we have introduced a range of new titles to accommodate growth for the team and proactively share job descriptions for all levels so people can keep on moving.

Training and development

At LCA you get to work with and learn from the very best in the industry in a stunning open plan office in Covent Garden with fantastic view of London. We pride ourselves on our commitment to training, learning and development and making sure each member of our team reaches their full potential with us. With a tailored and dedicated training budget we know there isn’t a one size fits all approach to training and that we all learn differently which is why we encourage everyone to do what works for them – from external training to internal masterclasses, hosting speakers to attending events.

We have formal performance reviews every six months which are forward looking, helping fuel individual performance in the future rather than assessing it in the past.

Benefits

We reward our staff well – with competitive salaries and bonuses but also with some of the softer stuff that makes the working day that bit easier. A well-stocked fridge, alcohol  and soft drinks, available to everyone, fresh fruit and a range of snacks. We have fresh towels and a laundry service for those using our shower or using the gym or going for a swim (which is in the basement of our office). We are also a very friendly place, with monthly socials, bi-annual trips abroad, monthly team lunches - the team just like to hangout with each other! We offer benefits for every stage of your life – tenancy deposit loans to childcare vouchers, generously matched pension contributions to season ticket loans – as we value every member of our team.

We have signed the Time to Change pledge as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our entire team and their mental health. In 2022 we were awarded bronze in Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Awards 2021-2022. A bronze award means we are achieving change when it comes to addressing mental health in our workplace.

Working in a fast paced, pressurised environment we need to ensure that we normalise the conversation around mental health, that we identify the potential triggers that could lead to poor mental health and promote wellbeing across the team. We are proud to be an accredited Living Wage employer and pay London Living Wage and above to all staff, interns and third party contracted staff.

LCA prides itself on its openness and transparency. We involve the team in the decisions the business takes, and we listen to our people. When we ask the team what’s the best bit about working at LCA – they say the team – and we can’t say better than that!
