Consultation during lock-down
The Brief
After a series of drop-in sessions earlier in 2020, Crosstree wanted to share the feedback they’d received and some initial designs for the redevelopment of Edmonton Green shopping centre. Due to the Coronavirus situation, they were unable to meet face-to-face with residents, tenants and the local community so LCA were tasked with helping them to consult online.
Results Delivered
Our approach was to develop a brand new consultation website with a virtual exhibition page. This page mimicked the look of a physical exhibition, allowing visitors to navigate the page by clicking on easel boards. Rather than linking these to hosted pdfs, the board content lived on a separate webpage as live content that responded to different screen sizes and devices. This ensured that the text remained legible at all times and enabled us to include various interactive elements. The website included a ‘Have your say’ section so visitors could easily provide their feedback online. Physical newsletters and posters along with social media posts encouraged local people to visit the website to view the proposals and give their feedback. Throughout the consultation we were conscious that not everyone has internet access and ensured that all materials were available as hard copies upon request.
