As Boris and his Brexit brethren celebrate, Corbyn and his coterie commiserate and Swinson, presumably, updates her LinkedIn profile, we bring you two blog posts to help you digest the events of the night. The first takes a broad view of the new national political landscape and the implications of it for the capital ahead of the May 2020 GLA elections. The second looks at the fate of the parties in London where the stark numbers in terms of seats held haven’t changed compared to 2017 but there’s a little more to it than meets the eye. Meanwhile, we await the detailed London vote share and turn out figures and a mini-Cabinet reshuffle is in the works, so watch this space for further updates. As always, we hope you find all this helpful and we’d love to hear your views on the results and what happens next.
