With Christmas fast approaching, we bring you the final issue of LDN – London in Short for 2016, packed with topical news best read with mince pie in hand.

We assess the first indications of the Mayor’s approach to housing as he publishes his draft Supplementary Planning Guidance, while the scale of social care hits home as the Government green lights increases in Council Tax. Meanwhile the Transport Secretary knocks back any suggestion of Southeastern rail services moving to Transport for London control and commuter woes trundle on. We also look ahead to 2017 and reflect on the national and international politics most likely to impact the capital.

To all our subscribers, as ever we hope you enjoy this latest issue of LDN and for those new to the magazine, you can subscribe to this and future editions here.

We will be taking a short break next month and our next edition will be at the beginning of February. In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
